ACTOR KARTHI felicitated winners of 11th Junior National Roll Ball Championship 2017 in Chennai
Rollball federation of India, conducted 11th junior national meet at JJ indoor basketball stadium, kilpauk garden Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Rollball Association of Tamilnadu has organised Three day event from 23rd Oct to 25th Oct 2017. Around 400 players both Boys & Girls participated from all over India. Boys Final played on 25th October between UP and Assam, and UP won the match, 11/6 (boys) Girls Final played between Assam and Maharashtra,And Maharashtra won match by 6/3 (girls).
Mr.Karthi actor and treasurer of nadigar sangam, presented the championship trophy and Medals to the champions, in the presence of Mr.Manoj yadav, Vice president of RBFI,Mr.Subramaniyam, Chairman of RBAT,Mr.Kalyanam, President of Chennai Rollball association,Mr.Nanjundeeswaran, Mr.Boopathi and Mr.Robin Rajikanthan.
M.P.Subramaniam ,organising chairman of RBAT points out that the Tamil Nadu youth is well aware of roll ball and there are about 3,500 players. Various universities approved this sport and top players can get admission for higher education in sports quota. In Chennai alone, there are about 18 roll ball teams and the game is being taught at Shenoy Nagar Park, among others. There are many schools and colleges that want to train their students in the game. But this cannot be played on regular grounds. We need to have concrete, wooden or well-laid-out grounds that are uneven.The only constraint with the game is that this sport can be played only on concrete grounds. Raju Dabhade said that “This sport will help students and players interact and exchange cultural values and views. It will also create a sense of unity and brotherhood between them,“ he wants to promote this game across the world and make this game popular among school and college students..
